Canyon County holds Annual Legislative Lunch

Boise--Canyon County Farm Bureau held their annual Legislative Lunch at the Idaho Farm Bureau Offices at 500 W. Washington in Boise.

President Alicia Kranz welcomed her board, County Farm Bureau members and Lawmakers to the catered event. Canyon County lawmakers discussed budget and stimulus issues along with a legislative overview.
Canyon County then discussed the 'Buy Local' movement sweeping Idaho and the United States. Board Member Sid Freeman told the group that WalMart has announced plans to buy produce from local producers. Freeman thinks the 'Local' movement will lead to more direct marketing.
Canyon County has teamed with Ada County to produce public service announcements that target rural road safety. Freeman will help produce the PSA's and hope to have them on the air by the first day of spring.
