America’s Farmers and Ranchers—World’s Most Productive

Washington--America’s farmers and ranchers are the world’s most productive. Today, each farmer produces food and fiber for 154 people in the United States and abroad. Even with today’s increased technologies, the world’s farmers will have to grow about 70 percent more food than what is now produced as the population is expected to increase by 2.3 billion by 2050.
