Annual Landowner/Manager Conference Slated for March 30-31
Moscow--All family forest, farm and ranch landowners and managers are invited to the 27th annual Family Forest Landowners & Managers Conference & Exposition on March 30-31, 2015 at the University Inn-Best Western Plus in Moscow, Idaho. At this year's Conference, the Renewable Resource Management Director for the Northern Region, USFS, and the Idaho State Forester will comment on management of federal land in Idaho. There will be segments on reforestation and forest restoration, techniques for wildlife habitat enhancement and restoration, new video on the updated forest practices regulations, and ideas on working land succession, forest taxation assistance, grant and cost share project opportunities, and much more.
This year's conference theme is "Forestry Q&A: Questions You Have & Answers You Seek". Presentations will be grouped in four general sessions: The Times - Are They A-Changin'?; Strengthening Your Legacy; Spotlight on Wildlife?; and, Back to School: Will There Be A Test? Special treats will be a sponsored social and a "Spit & Whittle" session.
Again this year the Conference will feature the Equipment Exposition. It will be held inside and outside the Palouse Mall and feature equipment useful to small scale resource-based operations. Businesses offering equipment or other land management services will also be on hand.
A special session of "Ties to the Land-Your Family Forest Heritage" will be offered on Sunday, March 29th to help families with intergenerational planning for transitioning forestland intact to succeeding generations. This session is limited to 25 people.
